Kara Birkey is a co-founder and our Vice President.
A graduate of Sarasota ’s Riverview High School and Sarasota County Technical Institute, after working several years in the banking industry, Kara is now a stay-at-home mom of two toddlers.
Kara’s husband is a firefighter and together they also own a residential and commercial pool service.
Juggling this full life, also living more than an hour from their families, the Birkey’s face the common struggles to find qualified and trustworthy sitters.
Kara met Leo while Attending Southbay Church in Riverview , Florida , and together they have created BabysittersPlus.com.
Using Leo’s technical knowledge and experience, Kara is working to create this tremendous service for all parents.
Understanding the need to find babysitters with whom parents can feel confident and comfortable and also recognizing the resources presented by the internet to allow safe, easy access to caregivers and even to facilitate communications with several sitters at once to quickly find sitters when the need arises.
Kara has created a way to help moms like her find the help that they need!

Leo Lovely is a co-founder and our President.
Leo graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Management Information Systems.
He has worked in information technology in the telecommunications industry professionally for 11 years and been involved in information technology for over 20 years.
After the birth of their second child, Leo and his wife, Cynthia, moved to a city where they had no family and few friends nearby.
They have faced the struggles that most parents of young children face to find trustworthy, reliable babysitters.
Even several years later, with a solid list of dependable sitters, they still sometimes find it difficult to coordinate schedules with their sitters’ own busy schedules.
With his many years of experience Leo conceived the idea of this website in 2006 - to provide a service to help parents find qualified sitters and then to help facilitate communications and scheduling.
